The big event on Tobago at Easter is the goat racing. To our amazement there is a goat racetrack at Buccoo and we watch as the goats and their riders (?) sprint down the straight cheered on by enthusiastic crowds. |
Over a beer Vicky and John soon work out the rather complicated betting system while Marilyn prefers to chill out in the sun.
To make the day even more exciting there is also crab racing and a beer drinking race - amazing. |
Under the water we find Tobago as exciting as on our last visit. Tommy and Johny are now diving like experts as we spot turtles, rays, sharks and huge shoals of every kind of tropical fish. |
After a couple of great dives at Speyside we relax in the Birdwatchers Restaurant where John uses Anna's golden locks to show us how just what he looked liked when he did have hair. |
More nature watching happened one night when a huge turtle crawled up Grafton Beach in the middle of the night to lay eggs. We watched, fascinated, as she dug a hole and layed her eggs. She then dug some fake holes to confuse the predators before crawling back into the surf. |
