Leaving Hong Kong IslandLamma islandSunday 21 September: Off on an expedition leaving from Pier 4 in Central to go to Lamma Island. 30 minutes by ferry from Central this small island, south of Hong Kong couldn't be less like its neighbour. Lowrise housing in small villages green hillsides you can walk between the two main villages in about an hour.
Fresh seafoodHarbour at Sok Kwu WanThis was a very hot excursion when we did it and we welcomed a cool beer when we got to Sok Kwu Wan on the other side of the island. This village is famed for its fresh fish restaurants stretched along the sea front under continuous awnings. We found the one with the most locals and had a great lunch on squid, scallops and steamed fish (and more beer). Then back to Hong Kong for a snooze...

Monday 22 September and I am up early to leave Tsim Sha Tsui and move over to Hong Kong Island and check into the Ritz Carlton. Very classy room looking out over the fabulous Bank of China building. Pity we see so little of the hotel as we work all day!

IFC towerView from officeWednesday 24th September: Here it is, the view from the 78th floor of The Center - a bit distracting in meetings. The sun comes out and I take my camera in to work. This huge p**** on the left is the new IFC tower which soars above its little brother and looks out of scale to the rest of the skyline.

On the right you can see our hotel, lower right with the terracotta pointed roof, tucked behind the Hong Kong club building - these buildings are 20 to 30 floors high and we are peering down on them. Last week we watched eagles soaring outside our windows.
Samantha, Susanna and Fiona1000 year old duck eggsThursday 25th September: we take the team out to dinner to celebrate completing a phase of the project. Yung Kee is one of the most celebrated restaurants in Central and welcomes all guests with 1000 year old duck eggs (an acquired taste).

The girls are not too keen on the eggs but are clearly having a good time.
Paul, Michael, Ross, Julian and DomDavid and Le RouxThe boys pose on the doorstep after which Dom, Ross and Le Roux sensibly head off to bed while David leads the younger members of the team off to Wan Tai for a trip along Lockhart Road... Let's hope that we see them in the morning.
