The Four Seasons Hotel in Puerto Vallarta sits on a point called Punta Mita a few miles north of the main town on the edge of a huge bay looking out over the Pacific. Off the beach large rocks break up the sea view and add to the dramatic landscape.
Golf fanatics were in second heaven here as a beautiful 18 hole course takes up much of the rest of the peninsular. We made do with the great gym, spa, massages, diving facilities and several excellent restaurants.

The UK PR Newswire crew dressed up for some very civilised Mexican haut cuisine in the evenings.
Russell and Sally look relaxed and stylish while Vicky shares a joke with Tony and Andy and Maureen look a bit more sheepish in front of the cameras.

Vallarta Adventure arranged several trips for us including a dive trip to the Marietas Islands, a short boat ride from the hotel. On the way over we saw both a large manta ray and a school of dolphins. The diving was very good although the first 9 metres of water was clouded by plankton bloom. Below this it was much colder but crystal clear. Loads of fish including sea horses, large angel fish and many dark blue and white spotted puffers. Underwater the granite cliffs were broken by boulders and swim throughs while above the water the stench of guano reminded us that this was a bird sanctuary.

The pool at Punta Mita was spectacular with an infinity edge making the water disappear into the horizon of the bay. Excellent pool staff kept the noisier American elements well supplied with Margaritas.
