![]() In August 2005 the Lewins, Cattells and Clintons head for Windhoek, Namibia for two weeks of extraordinary exploration. We drive south, almost as far as the South African border in two Toyota vans.Furthest south is the Fish River Canyon after which we head north along the western side of the country via the NamibRand reserve then the dunes at Sossusvlei before climbing the great escarpment and heading back to Windhoek. |

![]() Namibia has some of the oldest rock in the world - 1.8 billion years old - and the country is so bare of vegetation that you can huge geological exposures.
Add to this the hundreds of miles of sand sea and plains and valleys supported by underground aquifers and you get a delicate and beautiful environment that supports desert elephants, oryx, springbok, reptiles and insects and thousands of species of birds, many endemic to Namibia. |

We tour the Skeleton Coast, and some of the remotest parts of Namibia with two fabulous pilots/guides in two small 6 seater planes.Staying in simple tented camps and exploring the coast, wrecks, canyons, sand dunes and the Kunene river we get some amazing insights into the incredible country.
