In April 2003 we decide to head off to Canada for our annual ski trip. We had heard so many good things about the twin mountains of Whistler and Blackcomb that we had to try it for ourselves. Susie Mackenzie-Gray arranged the bookings and the six of us headed off to the Pacific coast.

By April there was no snow left in the village however there was plenty left up the mountain. In fact it dumped down most of the time that we were there.
Our chalet was a 3 bedroom apartment in this building, 10 minutes walk from the lifts, with a hot tub on the balcony. Justin, our 19 year old chalet host looked after us excellently.

The skiing in Whistler is divided between the two mountains and Gondolas leave from the village to each. A deep valley divides the two so once you decide where you are going you are pretty much committed for the day, especially when the bottom runs are slush as they are at this time of the year.

By the end of the week, and under Al's coaching the two boys are pretty impressive in the powder on their snowboards.
